Nude Celebrity Content: What's All The Rage?
The concept of posting nude celebrity pictures, information, etc. has been around a long time. Way before the web there were Bulletin Board Systems that people dialed into and did much of what we do on the web now. Of course, it was far more restrictive since you had to travel from BBS to BBS via direct dial connections. Obviously these did not get near the attention the WWW gets so there weren't as many headaches. Webmasters only paid a local telephone number charge as did the surfers. There was no 'bandwidth' issue, no international connectivity, no movies scaring the hell out of everyone about security problems. My BBS was tied up 24 hours a day and the main attraction was the of nude celebrity pictures I had to offer (then a couple hundred pics). People traded and helped webmasters out. Some were pay and some free and some accepted donations (that's what I did).
With the Web reaching astronomical proportions almost overnight the subject of nude celebrity content has spread around the world like wildfire. Along with that has come a lot of scrutiny by celebrities about the use of their picture, name, etc. It's funny, because some are in uproars and some aren't (more on that later). At any rate, nude celebrities seem to have become the 'baseball card' of the new milenium. There are hundreds of thousands of very serious collectors who create large archives of nude (upskirt, nude, ooppps, etc.) celebrity photos. Then, too, there are those who are just fulfilling the common fantasy about seeing their favorite celebrity in the buff.
Besides the electronic means, print magazines such as Celebrity Sleuth & Celebrity Skin have been doing the same thing for years. You don't hear them blasted as pornographer's all over television and radio. Paparazzi's favorite thing is the ooops or off-guard shot. They get BIG money for them. The world has a fascination with celebrities (not just men either!) -- and an even bigger appetite to see them in the buff or near nude. If that wasn't the case, most print or electronic advertisements, television shows, movies, books, magazines, newspapers and whatever else there is wouldn't use sex as a primary sales aid. Just watch Entertainment Tonight, Hard Copy or one of the other Hollywood shows. They spend the entire show hyping a racey spot they'll be showing later to keep you hooked.
Celebrities are quick to take their clothes off or put themselves in compromising situations for the sake of promotion and publicity. You can be with all the noise about nude celebrity sites they are aware that they gain even more popularity. Celebrities make millions of dollars from us. We ought to be able to enjoy them. If they didn't want to be seen naked, they shouldn't do the scenes or should use a bit better judgment about where they play.

Pornography: Do Nude Celebrity Sites Fit The Mold?
I certainly don't think so! Yes, there are sites that promise and/or provide fake XXX celebrity pictures but to generalize all nude celebrity sites based on this is totally wrong! Most nude celebrity sites show nothing more than is shown at the local community cinema -- typically no higher than an R-17 rating.
No one calls United Artists, AVCO or other theater owners pornographers. Nor do the studios who produce such movies get any flack as pornographers. Why do they call us that? Penthouse, Playboy, Easy Riders (Harley magazine) are all available at the local news stand, express market, gas stations and yet no one calls them pornographers. Why do they call us that? Magazines like Maxim and Details show women in see-through clothing. They are displayed in the local grocery store and no one calls the store owners pornographers. Why do they call us pornographers? Do you see how I feel about the whole thing?
Most nude celebrity sites have stars like Gillian Anderson, Sharon Stone, Demi Moore and other popular celebrities in photos (video captures & layout shots) and movies clips. Gillian Anderson did a nude love scene in The Turning. No one calls her a 'porn star' or 'porn queen'. Sharon Stone has done some incredibly sizzling scenes over the years. She's billed as a great actress (she is...) and no one calls her a porn star. We've all seen Demi Moore in About Last Night, Strip Tease and other hot movies. Another great actress according to most. No one calls her a porn star. A young actress who's name I can't mention got very wild in Embrace The Vampire with a pretty grapic lesbian scene and many other straight scenes. She's done quite a few other 'sexy' movies, too. The only one who hollars pornnograpy about her is her mom. We certainly don't. Has anyone billed Katarina Witt (famous ice skater) as a porn queen because she posed nude in Playboy? No!
Not one of these women (or any big male stars) has been so misrepresented as we who gather their photos and movies clips for others to see. We are pornographers and destroy children's minds with our filth. It's our fault Americans (the world really) can't get enough about sex. We're corrupting society! What a crock!! People who scream we're pornographers need to take a look in the mirror and they'll see a hypocrit most times. Many probably have a house made of glass, too! A good bet many frequent adult sites but won't admit it.
Webmasters simply gather photos and other celebrity content for others to enjoy. If the stars want it stopped, they should stop providing it for us! They won't! They know 'sex sells' and make millions providing 'adult entertainment' (R is not for kids). Famous athletes, musicians and others won't stop posing either.
